Scientists at the University of Cambridge (UK) have confirmed that G-quadruplex DNA structures exist in human cells and demonstrate that a G-quadruplex interactive compound selectively lowers the expression of the oncogene c-src, a gene implicated in multiple cancers that contains G-quadruplex forming DNA motifs.
